  • Welcome to the Farm Table

  • I'm Sarah, the daughter of a Midwest Farmer. I grew up on a farm but was raised in the kitchen, learning from my mom who fed a family of seven. I love to cook, I love my family and love farm life. And that's what you'll see here at the table! Enjoy!

The Country Wedding Cake

CountryWedding4A Country Wedding Cake – perfect for a beautiful country wedding. My farmer brother and his bride were married last summer and put in a special request to have my mother-in-law make the cake.

This brother of mine doesn’t say much and asks for even less, so it was near impossible to say no!

Cakes By Nanny did a bang up job, as did my sister-in-law and the rest of our family who put together quite a spread.

Sheet cakes were served to all the guests using this recipe for “Perfectly Chocolate” Chocolate Cake and my favorite frosting of all time, Whipped Buttercream.

The cake was covered in fondant for a smooth look and decorated with hand-crafted flowers, burlap, ribbon and lace.

My sister-in-law is very talented – and a florist. Needless to say, this wedding was beautiful. Each detail was perfect – from the flowers to the burlap pillow my nephew carried down the aisle.

Emma and Darcy were flower girls along with my niece, Addi. I just love their dresses and boots!

The little ring-bearer cowboys pictured here are my nephews Nate and Eli. Love those hats!
